Completion requirements
In Stage 3 you looked for and organized the information for your newspaper report. Take all that information you collected and consider the following aspects:
- Your article should comprise a minimum of 300 words. Feel free to use this web page to verify that you are not falling short of the required word count: Word Count.
- Follow the structure learned during Sub-task C and include the elements of each section (Introduction, body, conclusion). Click here to review it.
- Include discourse markers to connect ideas and paragraphs.
- Download this template to create your report draft and upload it to the forum. Make sure to incorporate any comments and suggestions that your classmates have provided regarding your draft.
Once you upload your newspaper report draft, read one of your classmates’ reports and make a comment with overall feedback about the content and the structure of the article:
- Is the information complete according to the instructions given for the report (e Stage 3, question 2 a,b and c))?
- Does the report have a catchy headline?
- Is the introduction complete? Does it have a hook, an overview of the most important information, and an outline of the subtopics?
- Do the body paragraphs develop information about the subtopics mentioned in the introduction. Do they include clear supporting details, facts, and quotes from experts or witnesses.
- Does the conclusion summarize the key points and emphasize the urgency or importance of addressing the issue. Does it also include a suggestion or a final thought.
This forum allows each person to start one discussion topic.
