One topic format configuration for Moodle version 1.9+

Moodle offers different ways to display the course, one of them is the Topics in tabs (not transition) format. To select this format type, you must go to the Administration block, and then click on Settings (See figure 1).

When the new form appears, go to the Format option, click on the dropdown button and select “Topics in tabs (not transition)” option (See figure 2). Finally, save changes by clicking the button at the end of the form.

You can see the new appearance of the course: topics are displayed in tabs, course blocks are arranged on the sides, and learning modules are in the center of the page. If you want to access a topic, you must click on the corresponding tab (See figure 3).

How can you change the tab name of each module?
In order to put the module name in his corresponding tab, you must go to the module you want to customize and click on the Edit topic icon (See figure 4).

The Moodle text editor appears, there click on the “HTML” icon placed on the left top of the editor (See figure 5).

In the “Editor del código fuente HTML” pop-up window, it is advised to type the next code: <div style="display: none;">General Information</div> with the aim of the tab title was not displayed on the module title. Taking into account that the words General Information are, in this case, the module name, this words have to be always replaced in the code with the corresponding module name. Finally, click on Actualizar button. Do not forget to save the changes (See figure 6).

When you finish changing the name to every tab, the course will show next appearance (See figure 7).
