DOCUMENTATION [Editar]

The exhibition featured an art installation I made with four other people! I was excited to dedicate our project to the conversations talked about between students on the subject matter we experienced on this trip. We cover topics echo, urbanism, day-to-day life, and lifestyle in both Columbia and Purdue. These conversations are between ourselves and our thoughts. My part of it was organizing our team so it was easier to progress forward. I set up questions that we can ask ourselves to progress conversations in a productive way, set up a schedule for when things should be done at what time, and I decided to even create a board of the title for our project: eavesdropping. we decided to use the graffiti art style on boards because it's very prevalent in the streets of Colombia, and it ended up coming out pretty nice looking for most of us first time doing it. we set up our art exhibit in the corner of a room so that when you walk close to the pieces they would play in a low-volume surrounding you, like eavesdropping on a conversation. Overall the experience was fun and inspiring to create more like it, we had a lot of good feedback and excitement towards our idea. I think we presented something that was unique and thought provoking for the public and our peers.

la vida cotidiana y el estilo de vida tanto en Columbia como en Purdue. Estas conversaciones son entre nosotros y nuestros pensamientos. Mi parte fue organizar nuestro equipo para que fuera más fácil progresar. Establecí preguntas que podemos hacernos para progresar en las conversaciones de una manera productiva, establecí un cronograma de cuándo se deben hacer las cosas a qué hora, y decidí incluso crear un tablero con el título de nuestro proyecto: escuchar a escondidas. Decidimos usar el estilo de graffiti en los tableros porque es muy común en las calles de Colombia, y terminó quedando muy bien para la mayoría de nosotros la primera vez que lo hicimos. Instalamos nuestra exhibición de arte en la esquina de una habitación para que cuando camines cerca de las piezas, se reproduzcan en un volumen bajo a tu alrededor, como escuchando a escondidas una conversación. En general, la experiencia fue divertida e inspiradora para crear más, recibimos muchos buenos comentarios y entusiasmo por nuestra idea. Creo que presentamos algo que fue único y estimulante para el público y nuestros compañeros.

This is my zombie doll. I took out the hair details because it was very complex, but I think it's kinda cute either way!

WILL YOU TAKE ME IN YOU [Editar]

I have a toy I got for christmas last year. It means a lot to me because it's a zombie, my favorite thing, and was given to me by a family member who never understood my interests until recently. I've always been given frilly, brightly colored things by my whole family, but my aunt stepped up and asked me what my interests were. I told her creepy things, horror movies, and - most importantly - zombies. I love that I was given something that meant the person thought of the real me.
--> Tengo un juguete que me regalaron por navidad el año pasado. Significa mucho para mí porque es un zombi, mi objeto favorito, y me lo regaló un familiar que nunca entendió mis intereses hasta hace poco. Toda mi familia siempre me ha dado cosas con volantes y colores brillantes, pero mi tía se acercó y me preguntó cuáles eran mis intereses. Le conté cosas espeluznantes, películas de terror y, lo más importante, zombis. Me encanta que me dieron algo que significaba que la persona pensaba en mi verdadero yo.

My team are drawing our pets traveling through space. I drew my pets (Pepper and Portia), the background, and the white planet.

STAMP [Editar]

I come from a very pretty village named White Salmon, Washington. Oregon is right across the river and we have an amazing view of Mt. Hood. I included it, as well as lavender and the bridge for one of our waterfalls as they are some staples of the environment. The culture of my village is shared across the Columbia River, but I think our name is funny, so I added it!
--> Vengo de un pueblo muy bonito llamado White Salmon, Washington. Oregón está justo al otro lado del río y tenemos una vista increíble del Monte Hood. Lo incluí, así como la lavanda y el puente para una de nuestras cascadas, ya que son algunos elementos básicos del medio ambiente. La cultura de mi pueblo se comparte al otro lado del río Columbia, pero creo que nuestro nombre es divertido, ¡así que lo agregué!
